Detailed approach
Education is treated as a foundational right and a practical tool against intergenerational poverty. PPF works with schools, communities, and public institutions to increase retention, improve learning outcomes, and equip girls with pathways into higher education and the future workforce.
Our flagship education initiatives include:
(i) Data Literacy & Excel Training (Ongoing) A practical 4-week program (3 days per week) teaching data foundations, Excel skills, analysis, visualization, and storytelling. Participants also join community activities such as beach cleanups and tree planting to collect and analyse real environmental data.
(ii) School Mentorship Program (Upcoming 2026) Career guidance, leadership, and life-skills sessions in six Mombasa secondary schools: Maweni Secondary (Nyali), Jomvu Girls (Jomvu), Mekatilili wa Menza (Mvita), Shika Adabu Secondary School (Likoni), Mtopanga Secondary School (Kisauni), Changamwe Comprehensive School (Changamwe).
(iii) Scholarships & Scholastic Support (Ongoing) Awarding scholarships and providing learning materials to bright but needy girls to remove financial barriers.
(iv) Digital Literacy Pathways Building foundational technology skills for girls and young women.
