Terms of Use

This website is published by Pure Pearl Foundation, a non-governmental organisation registered in Kenya with its office at The Pearl, Moyne Dr, Nyali, Mombasa, Kenya. By using the site you accept the terms set out below.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Donations made through this site are voluntary and, once processed, are not refundable except where a payment was made in error. If that happens, write to us within 30 days and we will investigate and refund where the error is confirmed.

Payments are processed by a third-party provider. We receive confirmation of the payment and the details you enter on the donation form; we do not receive or store your card or mobile money credentials.

Donations to a named project are applied to that project. If a project closes, is fully funded, or cannot proceed, we will apply the funds to the nearest comparable work in the same county and say so in our annual report.

Donations fund programme costs. Our office and staff overheads are met separately by our board and institutional funders.

We take care to keep programme descriptions, figures and project pages accurate and current. Figures published between annual reports are provisional and may be revised once the year's data is audited.

Where this site links to another organisation's website, we are not responsible for its content.

Text, photographs, reports and graphics on this site belong to Pure Pearl Foundation or are used with permission. You may quote and share them for non-commercial purposes if you credit us and do not alter their meaning.

Photographs of programme participants may not be reused for fundraising or advertising by any other organisation. Consent was given to us for our own reporting only.

Our name and logo may not be used to imply a partnership, endorsement or fundraising appeal that we have not agreed to in writing.

We never ask for donations to a personal mobile money number or a personal bank account. If you receive such a request in our name, do not pay it, and please report it to us at the address below so that we can act on it.

Volunteer placements and bursary awards are at our discretion and subject to references, safeguarding checks and the capacity of the relevant field team. Submitting an application does not create an entitlement or an employment relationship.

We do not charge any fee to apply for a bursary, a volunteer placement or a job with us, and we do not use recruitment agents who do.

This site is provided as it is. We do not accept liability for loss arising from reliance on general information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Kenyan law.

We may update these terms as our programmes or obligations change. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its review date shown at the top.
