We take a small number of volunteers each term, matched to work our field teams have actually asked for. Placements are in Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale.

Holiday tutoring

Maths, English and science revision for Form 2 to Form 4 scholars during school holidays. Teachers and university students are both welcome.

Tree nursery support

Potting, record keeping and seedling counts alongside the women's groups that run each nursery. No experience needed.

Bookkeeping for savings groups

Help group treasurers keep clean ledgers and prepare their quarterly returns. Suited to accountants and finance students.

4 hours a week, 3 months

Mombasa, or remote

Enterprise mentoring

Mentor a graduate of the enterprise course through her first year of trading. Most pairings run over WhatsApp and monthly calls.

How It Works

Four Steps, No Fee

We do not charge volunteers, and we do not arrange flights, visas or accommodation. Placements involving children require references and a safeguarding briefing.

    Send us a note

    Use the contact form and choose Volunteer. Tell us the role, your availability and where you are based.

  2. 02

    Short call

    A 20 minute call with the programme officer for that county to check the role fits both ways.

  3. 03

    Checks and briefing

    Two references and a safeguarding briefing before any placement involving children. This is not optional.

  4. 04

    Placement

    You are attached to one field team, with a named supervisor and a written scope for the period.
